Update on chat launch

UPDATE: Just wanted to let everyone know that we're actually still working on chat, and haven't launched it fully yet. If you don't see chat on your iGoogle page yet, hang in there. I'll post another announcement when we've launched the feature to everyone.

Last night, we officially launched chat on iGoogle. If you use iGoogle on .com and in English and you're signed in to your Google Account, you'll see a chat section -- like the one in Gmail -- on the left navigation.

Some of you might have seen chat on your homepage for a while already; we were trying it as an experiment and collecting feedback. One of the most common pieces of feedback we got was to make chat optional and leave an easy way to disable it, so ... we did.

To disable chat, visit the iGoogle settings page, click 'Hide chat' in the top section and save your settings (you can always re-enable it on the left navigation). Some more info about chat is available in the Help Center.
